Excitement this week – found out my friend Mina is running a 5K race in a couple of weeks time, so I decided to join her. The exciting bit? That race is in New York! It will be my first 5K, it will be winter there, I am gonna be doing it with a dear friend, it’s on Thanksgiving, and it’s in NEW YORK (did I mention that?). Excited – yes! Bring on the challenge.

Monday: 4.5k run on the treadmill

Tuesday: Nothing

Wednesday: 45min Shape up for Summer Team Training workout of the week

Thursday: 45min RPM class

Friday: 4k run on the treadmill + moving house (approx 30 trips up & down 2 flights of stairs + heavy lifting)

Saturday: MOVING DAY (so more heavy lifting + stairs)

Sunday: Exhaustion. Never moving house again!

Yikes – just catching up with last week! Here is what I got up to – not as much as I would like unfortunately!

Monday: 6k run on the treadmill

Tuesday: Nothing – but went up and down the stairs packing the house up enough times to work up a sweat!

Wednesday: 45min Shape up for Summer Team Training workout of the week

Thursday: Nothing

Friday: Sat on a train all day – so nothing

Saturday: Walked the dog. Unfortunately as the dog is 11 years old and very slow – it took 30minutes to get to the corner dairy.

Sunday: Nothing

Wow. Total exercise #fail. Must do better this week!

Monday: 55min step class. Was AWESOME.

Tuesday: 45min express Pump class

Wednesday: 45min Shape up for Summer Team Training workout of the week

Thursday: 45min RPM class

Friday: Day off

Saturday: 4.5hour tramp – along the Orongoronga track, up Cattle Ridge track and back down Butcher Track.

Sunday: Day off

Monday: 6km run on the treadmill (I am including the public holiday in last week)

At the end of our 4.5hour tramp

Weight loss to date: back to where I started 😦 I dunno if I am having a “fat morning” or whether some of the crap food (Nacho’s, wine, chippies) I ate over the weekend counteracted all the exercise I have done in the last 5 weeks – but the reality is the scales were back up this morning. Just means this week I gotta work even harder!

Monday: 55min step class

Tuesday: 3.2k walk/run. Had to walk one way as it was SUPER windy – but on the run back I was FLYIN!

Wednesday: 45min Shape up for Summer Team Training workout of the week  – the ‘deck of cards’ killer

Thursday: Day off

Friday: Nothing – too busy at work 😦

Saturday: 55min Pump class.

Sunday: Nada. My only excuse is that the weather was complete ass and so I couldn’t get out for a run.

Weightloss to date: 1.4kg. A little bit of a loss so I am happy 🙂

Monday: 55min step class

Tuesday: 30min express pump class – should have been 45mins, but the instructor was late & I had to leave early as I had a meeting (which I went to in my gym gear, and no one blinked an eye – gotta love Icebreaker!)

Wednesday: 45min Shape up for Summer Team Training workout of the week  – mainly leg work & an awful thing called the ‘Gut buster’

Thursday: 45min RPM

Friday: Day off to rest & recover

Saturday: 3.6k run. Was planning on it being longer but when I hit the corner of the bays & nearly got knocked over by the wind, I figured it was time to head back

Sunday: Nada.

Weightloss to date: 1.2kg. COME ON metabolism!

p.s. I am also getting sick of eating carrots. Carrots, carrots and more f*n carrots!

Just realised I never posted this on Monday! Oops!

Monday: 55min step class

Tuesday: 45min express pump class (first day of Superpump)

Wednesday: 45min Shape up for Summer Team Training workout of the week  – awesome! Love training with other girls.

Thursday: Injured & exhausted = burnout 😦 Did too much on the superpump & overstretched my biceps. Could barely move my arms!

Friday: 1 hour hill walk up Mt Victoria

Saturday: Nothing

Sunday: 2 hour walk around Somes Island

Weightloss to date: 1kg still – I seem to have plateaud this week. That’s ok, gonna keep on keeping on.

And a shoutout to the other girls who are posting their weekly workouts, and to those who have joined me with Nike+! Amanda, Jane and Kristyn – let’s go girls! Anyone else want to join us?

Yellow food.

Mmmmm drooool mmmmm

I love it!

I love fries and wedges and cheese and crackers and burgers and nachos…I go nuts over the yellow stuff!

BUT I have learnt (or am on the way to learning) that it’s not really the best option for me. In fact – as part of the Shape up for Summer challenge, I have given up hot chips/fries/wedges for the next 10 weeks. It’s not that I eat them that often, but I sure do crave them a hell of a lot – and giving in to that craving isn’t going to help me achieve my goals.

So buh-bye to yellow foods – unless it’s a real special treat 😉

Monday: Sluggish 55min step class (day 1 of detox so felt super blurgh)

Tuesday: 45min express pump class

Wednesday: 75min Yoga class

Thursday: 45min RPM class

Friday: day off

Saturday: walk around the botanical gardens

Sunday: 5.42k run on the treadmill

Weightloss to date: 1kg exactly (whooop, yes! A big loss finally!).

Shape up for Summer officially started on Saturday – so bring it on!

The lovely Les Mills is offering a 10 week Shape up for Summer challenge, starting this Saturday. The challenge runs until Saturday 4th of December – and for the grand total of $10 (all money to the Heart Children) I get:

  • two weigh-ins (eep)
  • two free RPM (spin) rides
  • a free 45 min consultation to get you on track
  • a weekly motivational email to keep me on track
  • a food and workout template to track my progress
  • access to a team training work out of the week (which I have signed up for) – to train with others who are on the challenge
  • prizes! spot prizes & an overall prize for the biggest loser & the biggest money raiser for Heart Children

All that for $10 seemed like a great deal so I have signed myself up, completed the first weigh in (sorry, not ready to share this JUST yet) and filled out my planned training diary.

Stay posted for the updates – one a week for the next 10 weeks. I want to shape up for summer! YAY!

Anyone want to join me?  😉

Fine print: you need to sign up by Saturday 25 September at your local Les Mills
